• Premises liability. Mr. Reagan secured the eight-figure commercial policy limits of the lessee of a property on which his minor client suffered a brain injury. He opposed summary judgment and obtained a pre-trial settlement in a wrongful death suit against the property owner and management company of a building with dangerous balconies. In an action against a fast-food restaurant, Mr. Reagan reached a settlement following his depositions of the company’s persons most knowledgeable about lost surveillance video. Mr. Reagan’s commercial insurance policy demand was accepted in a case against the property owner and management company of a negligently-maintained building. He achieved a multimillion-dollar settlement on behalf of a man who suffered life-threatening injuries on the set of a television show.
• Product liability. In a suit against the American distributor of an international soda company for defective packaging, Mr. Reagan opposed summary judgment and obtained a multimillion-dollar settlement. He elicited contradictory testimony from representatives of the manufacturer and the distributor of a defective wheelchair, resulting in a seven-figure settlement. When a medical device company withheld evidence of other similar incidents, Mr. Reagan persuaded the court to compel disclosure of the documents and the matter soon settled favorably. He secured the commercial insurance policy limits on behalf of a widow and minor children in an action against the manufacturer of defective construction equipment.
• Dangerous Condition of Public Property. Mr. Reagan represented a quadriplegic teenager in a road design action against the State of California, a brain-injured cyclist against the State of California, and a brain-injured pedestrian against the City of Oxnard. In a case brought on behalf of a cyclist’s widow and son, Mr. Reagan opposed summary judgment and was part of the team that obtained a multimillion-dollar jury verdict against the City of Los Angeles.
